In Perth, Western Australia, we have ACTIV, an organisation that employs less able people in valuable employment. The work includes making furniture, plant raising and other manufacturing activities.
In December, Linda and I were in Paris to meet some clients. We took a walk around Paris and discovered a store that is an urban farm shop. We thought it was a retailer specialising in locally grown product.
Vitrine des Cat specialises in locally hand made preserves and product, but produced by less abled people. The retail team are also less abled. On entering, we were offered a card that explained the concept and objectives of the store.
A great concept, which could be duplicated anywhere.
