Hi John - the comment re: the 1st 10 seconds is paramount. I run a small retail consultancy in South Africa and a course I have developed hammers away at how the management and staff arrive for a day's business - through the back door. Very often they never get past the physical (and mental) barrier that represents the consumer and as a grave consequence never seeing the business from a Customer Journey perspective - often leading to lack of sales due to very obvious issues that the staff et al have no idea about.
